Named after one of the U.S.'s most unique estuaries, the Chesapeake Bay is home to millions of people, miles upon miles of shores, and thousands of different species of plants and animals. The Chesapeake Bay also has incredible geologic history due to its formation thanks to ice ages, glaciers, plate tectonics, weathering, and meteor strikes!
