This strong, fruity candle has notes of fresh pineapple, green leaves, sweet anise, herbal sage, and clean coconut. Named after the atmospheric river, the Pineapple Express. Imagine a large, flowing river carrying lots of water from one region to the next - just in the atmosphere! Except these rivers carry water in the form of vapor. Unlike rivers on the ground that typically flow downhill, ARs flow in the direction created by weather systems. They are very large too: ARs can extend between 250-375 miles wide and can travel large distances of about 1000 miles. This particular AR originates in the tropical waters near/over Hawaii where it picks up a lot of warm, moist air and travels northwest to the US/Canadian coast. Remember that orographic lifting along the west coast mountains can wring out all of the moisture in clouds - the same happens here where the ARs dump large amounts of the water it carried either in the form of persistent heavy snow/rain. Sometimes this can lead to hazardous conditions like flooding and mudslides.
