Wayfarer's Wicks

Rain Shadow

Experience a multitude of weather phenomenon with our one of a kind atmospheric conditions collection.

Inspired by the beautiful aroma of cactus flowers and cactus fruit. This candle has notes of clean agave and aloe, floral chrysanthemum, green leaves, and the slightest hint of patchouli. Why is the coastal Pacific Northwest so rainy and eastern Pacific Northwest so dry, you ask? Well friends, this is due to the rain shadow effect. When air is forced to rise due to terrain on the windward side (we call this orographic lifting), the moisture in the air condenses and rains out. As the air continues to travel over and down the mountain on its leeward side, it is dry and warms by compression. In fact, you see this all over the world! You see this in South America with its lush, dense rain forests and extremely dry and arid conditions west of the Andes Mountains. You even see this on the island of Hawai’i with lush greenery to the east and dry conditions to the west.

Made with a blend of hemp-coconut-soy waxes, phthalate free fragrances, and a crackling wooden wick. Complete with a branded bamboo wood lid.

Wax melts come in a plastic clamshell recycle under code 3, which is accepted under most curbside services. Each cube can release fragrance up to a total of 8-12 hours.
